Dunsa’s Chairman, Morgan de Dapre, awarded the Sarton Medal of Science | Dines

DinesMorgan De Dapper (74), worthy of Deinzen and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dunsa, received the Sarton Medal from Ghent University. Each academic year, these medals are awarded to deserving scholars.

The Sarton Medal for the academic year 2020-2021 from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Ghent was awarded to Deinzenaar Morgan De Dapper for his research and teaching in the field of “Geoarchaeology”. This relatively young scientific branch began to develop about 50 years ago. In doing so, the relationship between man and his environment in the past is investigated through a closely intertwined collaboration of geomorphologists and archaeologists.

Morgan de Dabre is a born and raised Denzinar. Since 2016, he has been Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dunsa, Department for History, Arts and Heritage in Deinze and Lys District. In this context, he launched the project “In Search of the Oldest History of Deans”. In November last year, the city awarded him the honorary title of “Deinzenaar Worthy of Merit”.
