Ben Deck and Josje Borg secured the score 2-0 in the first half, after which the Netherlands had to be patient until the last stage. Rene van Laarhoven signed in the 49th minute from the penalty spot for the score 3-0. Dick, Marine Finn, and Luna Fook increased the score.

The Dutch had won their first seven matches in the Pro League before the match against Australia ended in a 3-3 draw last weekend. The Netherlands then lost the penalty shootout series, to get an extra point, 2-1.

The Netherlands will play the United States again on Tuesday. Double ties with Germany and New Zealand also await in June. At the beginning of July, two matches are scheduled against Belgium for Olympic champions the Netherlands.

National coach Paul van As’s team is third in the standings with 25 points from nine games. No. 8 America has 7 points from nine games. Argentina are in first place with 29 points but have played five more matches.
