Dutch series New neighbors will receive the English version, The couple next door. Millstreet Films, which produced the original series, made the announcement on Wednesday. The series will air on Starz in the US and Channel 4 in the UK. Starring Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) and Sam Heughan (Outlander).
In the first season New neighbors, based on Saskia Noort’s bestseller of the same name, shows how couple Eva and Peter (Bracha van Doesburgh and Daan Schuurmans) come to live next door to Rebecca and Stef (Kadja Schuurmans and Thijs Romer). They become friends, but a partner exchange has long-term consequences for that friendship. In the Netherlands, Neuve Buren had four seasons.
Filming has begun in the United Kingdom and Belgium. There are six episodes in the English language series. This is not the first remake of Niue Buren, a French version has also been made before. It is not yet clear whether The Couple Next Door will also be shown in the Netherlands.
