Eating (half) a grapefruit a day keeps the doctor away

Door Redactie Online

Grapefruit may not be everyone’s favorite food, but you have to give it some money to stay healthy. A Harvard University study, in which at least 50,000 people were examined, showed that half a grapefruit a day keeps your brain at its best and significantly reduces the chance of memory loss.

Grapefruit and pepper

Citrus fruits owe this property to flavonoids, antioxidants that are naturally present in large numbers in grapefruit. Other foods like celery, strawberries, and apples are also rich in flavonoids – which are good for those who aren’t big fans of grapefruit. Researchers also recommend eating enough sweet pepper, as it will reduce the chance of memory loss by a third. A healthy diet can have a huge impact on your health.
