Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was released in August 2023. The fifth game in the series was released long ago in 2012. In the past, the developer released new games in the series very quickly. Many have wondered what the release of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will mean for the future of the series. The developer is now hinting that there is more to the series.
From Hidetaka Miyazaki Software Company recently obtained one Interview with IGN Japan. Miyazaki said in the interview that he thinks Armored Core VI is a success, but there is still room for improvement. Miyazaki says he is “determined not to stop” developing Armored Core games. However, Miyazaki points out that no details have been decided yet.
“I think Armored Core 6 was a success. On the other hand, not everything was perfect, and there is still room for improvement, so I am determined not to stop there. However, no specific decision has been made yet.”
So it seems like Miyazaki is hinting that Armored Core will be back in the future. However, it does not appear that a new Armored Core game is currently in the works, with Miyazaki indicating that nothing has been decided yet. The developer may be busy with other projects at the moment.
One project that we know the developer is working on is the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring. Many have been waiting a long time for the DLC to be released, which will finally be released on June 21. An impressive trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC story has recently debuted.
