Italy and Turkey submit a joint application to organize Euro 2032 | Euro 2024

Since 2021, interested countries have been allowed to apply to UEFA to organize European Championships in 2028 and 2032. Turkey, which has repeatedly failed to organize major football tournaments in the past, has submitted a nomination for both editions.

When it comes to the European Championship in 2028, the Turks seem to be missing out. The United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) will be in first place to win the European Championship.

England previously hosted the 1966 World Cup and 1996 European Championship finals, while many European Championship 2020 matches were held at Wembley and Hampden Park. Last year’s Women’s European Football Championship was also held in England. The host country won the European title.

As for the 2032 European Championship, Turkey appears to face competition from Italy, which has also presented itself as a candidate. It has now been decided to submit one joint bid from both candidates.

The statement read: “UEFA confirms that it has received a joint nomination request from the Italian Football Federation and the Turkish Football Federation.”

On October 10, the UEFA Executive Committee will vote on the allocation of the two tournaments. The next European Championship will be held in Germany next year.
