Izegem and De Stamper Food Bank are providing 153 families with an extra food package

153 Izegem families receive an extra food package. The city of Izegem and De Stamper Food Bank receive financial support from the federal government for this.

“It’s about an extra distribution for residents who have an existing menu.” Food packaging is very welcome in these turbulent times, “says Alderman of Welzijn Ann Van Essche.

Federal government support

“Through this food distribution, we can provide additional food for 153 families from Izegem, consisting of 197 adults and 123 children,” explains Alderman from Welsijn aan van Esch.

De Stamper provides free food to those struggling financially. The parcels are usually distributed monthly, but the city provides every now and then an additional parcel. The additional food parcels are thanks to financial support from the federal government.

“The federal government provides a budget of € 3,324 for each additional distribution to Izegem. This amount goes entirely to food, Alderman van Esch explains. It is indeed the third time that the city has made this extra distribution. Another additional distribution is scheduled for mid-May.

Alderman Van Essche assures that anyone who needs any help can always contact the Social Service at 051 33 65 90 or the Social Home at 051 33 72 80. “Our staff works with all requests for assistance, and in cooperation with the parties involved an appropriate solution,” ships concluded .
