Matthew Halsall comes out with new album On Our Changing View

Trumpeter, bandleader and composer Matthew Halsall has announced a brand new album An ever-changing vision On, a comprehensive, impeccably conceived project showcasing Halsall’s signature blend of jazz, electronic, global and spiritual jazz influences.

An ever-changing vision, A very beautiful heiress Salutations to the Sun, The release on Gondwana Records (the label Halsall founded 15 years ago) will be preceded by a headline show at London’s The Royal Albert Hall on September 21 and tour dates across the UK and Europe.

One of the leading figures of the British jazz renaissance, Halsall never saw himself as part of a particular sound or scene: instead, he created his own sonic universe. An ever-changing vision His most experimental album to date, he again expanded his sound and production techniques to create his unique meditative music.

While making the album, he stayed in both a beautiful architect’s home with breathtaking ocean views and a striking modern home, where he composed what he saw “like a landscape painting”. In these new environments, Halsall wanted to capture “a sense of openness and escapism” and re-approached making music from scratch. “I hit the reset button and wanted complete musical freedom,” he says. “It’s a real exploration of sound.”

An ever-changing vision The packaging is as eye-catching as the music, with handcrafted fonts designed by Designers Republic’s Ian Anderson and custom tapestry by artist Sarah Kelly.

The first beautiful song from the new album has already been released Water Street.
