In Mechelen, the 23rd edition of Mechelen Beach kicked off Thursday at the Transit M site, on the Duaneplein River. The previous two editions had to be canceled due to the pandemic. “We definitely have nice weather with us,” it sounded when the new beach was introduced.

The first games will begin Thursday evening. “A total of 140 teams are registered. More than 500 players stand between the lines. What is new is that in addition to the corporate and recreational tournament, the Antwerp Beach Volley Championship final will take place on Sunday,” says Mavoc’s Steve Maes, who is responsible for sporting leadership for this tournament. which lasts four days.

After the beach volleyball tournament, which ends on Sunday evening, kids can have fun at the Kids Beach from Monday August 1, which will remain open until August 15. There are all kinds of beach games, kids disco, makeup, etc. A trendy beach bar with palm trees and music also immerses Transit M in a true holiday atmosphere. Because the weather also announces the summer seasons for the coming days.
