Modern Warfare 3’s campaign only lasts 3-4 hours

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s story campaign will only take 3 to 4 hours. At least if we can believe players who have early access to the game. The scenario is also said to be very poorly written, making the mode feel like an add-on.

Rumors have been circulating for some time that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be an extension of Modern Warfare 2, and not a completely new chapter in the series. The way Activision handled the game also confirms this. This way you can transfer all weapons and equipment from Modern Warfare 2 to the new part, blurring the boundaries between the two games.

Since Thursday, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign has been available to everyone when pre-ordering the digital edition. This allows them to play the campaign a week before the official release. Unfortunately, first impressions are disappointing, because the campaign will already be completed after 3 or 4.

Call of Duty streamer Marley13 (video below) completed the mode in approximately 4 hours. Of course, it’s true that Call of Duty campaigns are never large-scale. You can usually complete the campaign in about 6 to 8 hours. To clarify: Myriad players took 8 hours on average to complete Modern warfare campaign 2.

At 4 hours long, Modern Warfare 3 is very short. Something with which players are also expressing their dissatisfaction on Twitter.

By the way, note that Modern Warfare 3 on PS5 does not have the Platinum Trophy. Something very typical of game expansions. It’s no coincidence, because the game’s trophies list will also be included as a downloadable content (DLC) list below the Modern Warfare 2 menu. Further proof that Modern Warfare 3 is actually a standalone expansion.
