After two years of testing mobile video games, Netflix says it’s time to expand. The streaming service recently announced that it will be testing more widely with games on smart TVs and PCs. Time to put your PlayStation in the trash?

On August 14, a limited beta test was rolled out to a small test group in Canada and the UK. A few games are now provided for them on their smart TVs, so that, in addition to watching movies and series, they can also play games from the sofa.

But how can you play without a controller? Netflix has created that users’ cell phones can act as consoles. Thus, having the Netflix app installed on your phone and on your smart TV is enough to play games on your TV.

On computers, people can use their mouse and keyboard to play Netflix games through their regular browser. The first games available include Night School Studio’s “Oxenfree” and Molehew’s Mining Adventure.

Netflix already has seventy games ready for mobile devices, with another 25 to be added before the end of the year.

Netflix has not yet announced when these video games will be made available to other people.
