BREDA – Nicky Noorhoff from Breda has been chosen as The ONE Campaign’s Youth Ambassador. The young activist will campaign to tackle global crises. He believes now is the time to fight climate change, combat extreme poverty and eradicate preventable diseases by 2030.

Along with more than 300 youth ambassadors from the United Kingdom and the European Union, 21-year-old Nikki will engage with politicians and raise awareness among the Dutch public. He hopes that development aid and financial resources will be opened up to those in need. He will campaign on climate change and try to ensure that Dutch leaders fulfill their promises regarding climate finance and support for low-income countries to adapt to the effects of climate change. “I am very happy to be a youth ambassador and campaign to end extreme poverty and fight against climate change,” says Niki, “I want to do everything I can to campaign for those who need it most. Presenting the fight against extreme poverty and climate change to Dutch leaders and bringing the public to this cause is very important. Important.

The ONE Campaign is an anti-poverty organization founded by Bono of U2. Together with young activists like Nikki, they engage in campaigns to raise awareness and lobby politicians to make decisions that lead to a fairer and more sustainable society.
