“Pakistan could increase UK trade to 5.7 billion euro in 5 years”

According to Irfan Iqbal Shaikh, President of the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce, Pakistan has the potential to increase its exports to the UK to 5 billion pounds (5.7 billion euros) within five years, based on favorable factors such as competitively priced products, increased demand for imports from Pakistan and an increasing trend in business contacts in recent months.

Sheikh noted that trade between Pakistan and the United Kingdom is improving and demand or demand for imports from Pakistan in sectors such as fruits and vegetables, IT services, textiles, leather goods, sports goods, gems, jewelery and artefacts has been increasing in recent times, especially after the coronavirus pandemic. .

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Mozzam Ahmed Khan, said that visa facilitation for the business communities on both sides is important for better networking and trade visits and trade shows. The two governments should work together to ease visa requirements and processing time, Khan stressed.
