Safety and health in the doldrums for employers – FM.nl

The boss says that vitality is the employee’s responsibility.

13% of employers in the Netherlands pay attention to a safe and healthy work environment less than once every three years. A quarter had no idea about the situation.

This is the result of a study conducted by Zorg van de Zaak among Dutch employers. A third of employers do not have plans to preventively improve the vitality and health of their employees. Although job stress is by far the most important factor for stress at work, one in five employers does not know what is going on with employees in this area.

Six out of ten entrepreneurs have had an RI&E, the mandatory risk inventory, implemented. Of the firms that carried out research and evaluations, three out of ten carried out psychosocial workloads.

More than half of managers (53%) indicated that their organization had conducted research on the work experience of employees in the past three years. Just under half (49%) of employers offer employees the opportunity to have a regular medical examination.

More than a third of employers who do not provide such a check indicate that vitality is the responsibility of the employee, not the employer.
