Samsung blocks recent rumors with S22 FE and S23

Despite the fact that Samsung’s own chips are not your favorite, this does not mean that the company necessarily considers other options. Meanwhile, there has been some confusion about what exactly the South Korean company is planning in terms of processors. Insiders seem to know more about it now.

Last month, the news was that the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE (Fan Edition) gets a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. But this rumor was soon debunked by insiders who claim that this is temporary. will not happen† By the way, this is a high-end processor and has a lot to offer.

What chips does Samsung choose?

Then came the news that Samsung is choosing to buy processors from MediaTek quite often. This mainly concerns premium smartphones, since affordable models are already equipped with such chips. For example, the Galaxy S23 – at least in Asia – will get new MediaTek processors.

But that doesn’t seem to be happening either, according to the same insider. No premium smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer won’t be receiving a high-end dimensionality processor anytime soon — or later. This may put an end to rumors that this is in the pipeline.

How about exactly?

Samsung offers two types of chips for its high-end smartphones: those from Qualcomm and its Exynos processor line. Users in Asia and the US can rely on the Qualcomm processor, while the rest of the world will get Exynos chipsets. This is how it is now and how it will continue in the present.

20% of Galaxy smartphones are currently running an Exynos chip. Last year, it was reported that Samsung wanted to increase this percentage to sixty percent. So if something is going to change, it’s not that Samsung is focusing on other providers, but rather that it is relying on its own offering.
