Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (March) and Galaxy A71 (One UI 5.1)

Samsung released the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A71 in the Netherlands last weekend. In addition, the Galaxy S21 FE will get the update with the March patch.

March isn’t that long anymore, but a number of Samsung phones still have to get a patch this month. We can now delete one from the list, now that the Galaxy S21 FE also received the patch this weekend.

Just under 300MB is the firmware version update G990BXXS3EWC4, which brings the March patch to the S21 FE. The update does not bring any practical changes to the device – only security has been improved. There are 40 Android fixes — including one significant fix for the Snapdragon processor that powers the S21 FE — and 23 fixes for Samsung’s One UI. This improves security keyboardthe phone to request, galaxy themesand bluetooth connection.

You can download the Mars patch now on the European Unbranded Galaxy S21 FE. If you haven’t received an automatic notification yet, you can start manually via Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.

Galaxy A71 update: One UI 5.1

Although Samsung rolled out the One UI 5.1 update surprisingly quickly to quite a few phones, the release isn’t quite out yet. The agenda also included – for example – the Galaxy A71. The major upgrade is now also available for this device.

Firmware update A715FXXU8DWB5 is over 1235MB in size. On board are the security patches through February, but most importantly: the release of One UI 5.1. This one has quite a few improvements, from the option to choose different backgrounds to different backgrounds arrangementthe new battery widget, and much more. You will receive a full list of changes directly with the update.

One UI 5.1 is immediately available on all versions of the Galaxy A71 sold in the Netherlands and Belgium. If you haven’t received a notification yet, you can check availability yourself, via Settings -> Software update -> Download and install.
