S&P maintains a credit standing to the United Kingdom

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Standard & Poor’s maintained a UK credit rating of AA with a stable outlook. The US credit rating agency reported this Friday evening.

Standard & Poor’s expects a strong economic recovery in 2021 and 2022 thanks to the rapid vaccine rollout. Moreover, the budget deficit is narrowing this year while support measures are lifted, according to the rating agency.

Standard & Poor’s forecasts growth of 4.3% for the UK economy in 2021 and 6.8% in 2022.

The budget deficit is expected to fall to 10 percent of GDP this year from 16.5 percent in 2020.
