Square Enix confirms that the upcoming Mana game on console is now in development

Earlier today, Square Enix held a live broadcast of the 30th anniversary of real a series. During the broadcast, fans discovered that a new game was in the works.

As much as producer Masaru Oyamada wanted to share a “cool” video ad, nothing is ready to show yet. What he wanted to reveal the most was that this game was being made for a “console” version and that the series maker (who also happened to be the current CEO of Grezzo) had actually seen it.

Fans were also reminded that the 30th anniversary of the Mana series has just begun and they are assured that an official announcement is on the way. However, keep in mind that it may take some time before this new element is actually released. Here’s the full translation, courtesy of the RPG website:

It would have been great to make a great video ad, but the 30th anniversary is just getting started. Frankly, we are working on it. We are working on it, but please wait for the ad to appear. Indeed, master Ishi [Mana series creator, current CEO of Grezzo] I look at her that day. We’ve come this far, so I hope you look forward to it. We still have a long way to go in development… We’re getting ready for the release on consoles, and we’ll be glad if you can wait.
