Stardew Valley has sold over 20 million copies in total. Content creator Eric Baron answers.

Stardew Valley was released in February 2016 and has since sold over 20 million copies, according to Press Department From the Stardew Valley website. 13 million of those sales are from the PC version. In a letter to computer games Eric Barron, creator of Stardew Vally says he can’t believe it.

“Selling 20 million copies is really amazing,” says Barron. “I do not believe that [het spel] It’s getting too big.” The creator said it didn’t look like sales were going to slow down anytime soon, because “Stardew Valley’s daily sales volume is bigger than it’s ever been.” “I don’t know why that is.”

“I hope the game becomes more popular through word of mouth. The more people play the game, the more people will share it with their friends. Anyway, I am very happy that Stardew Valley is still very popular.”

In January of 2020, it was announced that Stardew Valley had sold 10 million copies. By September 2021, the number has reached 15 million, and now, eight months later, it has reached 20 million. But that also depends on Barron himself, he says. “The rapid increase in the number of sales is partly explained by the fact that I calculate it more accurately now. The 15 million was underestimated, because I did not have all the information at the time. Now that I have published the game myself since this year, I can count more comprehensively “.

Barron concludes by saying that despite Stardew Valley’s success, he is now focusing on his new game Haunted Chocolatier: “That’s my priority right now. [..] But I don’t have any strict plans. If I’m productive every day and follow my own path, I feel good about it, and I think that translates into a better end product for everyone.”

It is not known when Haunted Chocolatier will be released. Barone is also working on another game, although nothing else is known about it yet.
