During Donald Trump’s presidency, the CIA was planning to kidnap or even kill WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. This is according to a new report.
Scenarios to kidnap or even kill Julian Assange. That’s what senior intelligence officials would have asked. Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo is said to have led the crusade against Assange. This is evidenced by the interviews with more than 30 former intelligence officials that I have published Yahoo news.
Pompeo’s plans deepened in 2017 when he sought revenge against WikiLeaks and Assange After the ‘Vault 7’ leaks. Nearly 9,000 documents, published under the name “Vault 7,” primarily described the hacking arsenal available to the CIA. When the US government learned that Assange was going to try to escape from the Ecuadorean embassy in London and flee to Russia, everything had to become more realistic. So the CIA came up with scenarios to intercept him.
So they wanted to shoot him on a street in London. Or drive a car inside the vehicle you will be transporting. Or the tires of an Assange plane exploded.
For the latter scenario, they reportedly requested the help of their British allies. An intelligence official said the British would have approved the operation.

Australian-born Assange officially became an Ecuadorean citizen in 2018. He obtained that citizenship when he lived for years at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London. He fled there in 2012 when he was threatened with arrest in Sweden after allegations of sexual assault. Assange fears he will be extradited via Sweden to the United States, where he is under fire over posts on the whistleblower’s website.
Ecuador revoked Assange’s refugee status in 2019, allowing police to arrest him. Soon after his arrest, he was sentenced to about a year in prison for violating the terms of his bail in the abuse case.
Assange is currently in a British prison fighting extradition to the United States, where prosecutors accuse him of espionage by publishing classified diplomatic documents on WikiLeaks.
In August, Assange lost an appeal on appeal to prevent the US government from extending its appeal against Assange’s refusal to extradite. The US appeal against the extradition will be heard in October.
