The Pokémon Company responds to Palworld: investigation and “appropriate measures”

The Pokemon Company commented on In the world, albeit without actually mentioning the game by name. Since the release of the hugely popular game, The Pokémon Company has received many questions about it, as there has been a heated debate over whether or not Palworld has stolen Pokémon designs. It’s a fairly general response and says little about concrete steps that could be taken.

“We’ve been getting a lot of questions about a game from another company that was released in January 2024,” she says at first. “We did not authorize the use of Pokémon intellectual property or assets in that game. We plan to conduct an investigation and will take appropriate action to address any infringement of Pokémon intellectual property rights.”

Although The Pokémon Company is publicly responding to Palworld already, nothing has actually been said here about any actions. The Pokémon Company has not yet announced that it suspects or believes that violations have occurred, but is only investigating the matter and will take appropriate action if it believes that violations have actually occurred.
