The Belgian Video Games Federation (VGFB) gives us a list of the top 5 best-selling games in Belgium every week.
Remarkably, FIFA 23 took first place in week 33 of 2023. Last week, the soccer game also took first place. The fact that FIFA 23 is still selling well is very interesting, because in less than a month the second part will be released, which is EA Sports FC 24. The start of various football competitions, lower prices and the fact that the Champions League will take place. It’s launching soon, and it’s undoubtedly caused a boost in FIFA 23 sales.
In second place from last week was the remake of Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar Games has re-released this game on PlayStation 4. The game can also be played on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility, and perhaps most interestingly the version on Nintendo Switch. You can now play one of the best open world games ever on the go on Nintendo Switch.
In third place is another game from the developer Rockstar Games, which is GTA V. This game has already crossed the barrier of 185 million copies sold. In the past three months alone, 5 million copies have been sold. Which is insanely good. Many new Triple A games fail to achieve these results. GTA V is the best-selling premium game in gaming history.
In fourth place is the racing game F1 23. This weekend Max Verstappen is coming home to the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort. Undoubtedly, the hype around the race increased the sales of the game.
In fifth place is GTA Online, the standalone game that you can purchase through Microsoft and the PlayStation Store. Here you won’t have access to the single player story of GTA V, but you will have access to the full online experience.
