Early access to the Marauders shooter, a space adventure developed by independent studio Small Impact Games and released under the Team 17 umbrella, is out today on Steam.
In Maraduders, we will be in the skin (or rather in the space suit) of some star pirate as we will face fierce skirmishes in a multiplayer tactical shooter based on loot. With the massive scenarios based on the spaceship and traveling in our star fighter, we will have to upgrade our equipment little by little to survive in this desperate sci-fi world.
Our colleague Rebecca got to grips with the controls of the Marauders ship during her visit to the recent Gamescom 2022 in Cologne, and in fact recorded some video impressions that you can see below.
Among other things, Rebeca notes that the gameplay is very impressive comparable With Escape from Tarkov, which the folks at Small Impact Games are working on. With three more players for a total of 6 teams (24 players total), the game goes as follows:
The game has two different stages, the first is to navigate through the stars by controlling the spaceship and fight in space battles against other teams, and the second is to board a ship and loot what’s inside and loot it by controlling the character. To control this large ship, but we can fight for the resources in it. Sure, we can raid other teams’ ships, and if you can take out the whole team, we can take the ship and all the upgrades and resources with us. It’s a risky process, but the risk (sometimes) is worth it.”
