Sven Spibrook: From 7 to 14 August
He is a Radio 1 presenter. Best known for the Boys & Science radio show where he and Koen Fillet tried to respond to everyday phenomena in a popular scientific way with the help of the audience. Since September 2010, he presents, again with Koen Fillet, the indoor kitchen program on Saturdays on Radio 1.

Rob Hero: From 17 to 24 July
He studied law and then communication sciences and worked as a journalist for the VRT news service since 1993. In 2002 he became Europe’s correspondent there, covering all topics related to the European Union. Together with Hendrik Vos, he made a series for Canvas in 2014 about the Iron Curtain.

From 17 to 24 July

Day 1 – Brussels > Porto (Portugal)

Scheduled flight to Porto. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to Porto Port (Villa Nova de Gaia). Welcome cocktail and dinner on board.

Day 2 – Regua > Lamego > Pinhao

Arriving at Regua, the gateway to the Alto Doro wine region. In the afternoon, you leave by bus to Lamego, one of the most historic towns in the Douro Valley. Visit the cathedral and the Lamego Museum. This museum houses an interesting collection of paintings by Portuguese artists and Flemish textiles. Evening dinner at a beautiful wine estate, Quinta da Avessada, located in the heart of the wine region. This family business produces the famous Moscatel wine. Visit a wine farm led by the owner, followed by a typical country meal with homemade wine, accompanied by local musicians.

Day 3 – Vega Tyrone > Castillo Rodrigo

In the morning the ship sails to Vega Tyrone on the Spanish border. In the afternoon, stroll to Castelo Rodrigo, a medieval village with steep narrow streets, with beautiful Manueline facades and windows. Visit the ruins of the castle and the Church of Reclamador.

Day 4 – Vega Terron > Salamanca (Spain) > Barcelona Dalva (Portugal)

Depart by bus for a full-day excursion to Salamanca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the splendor of the old town. Panoramic city tour along, among other things, the Plaza Mayor, one of the most beautiful monumental squares in Spain. Stroll the narrow city streets and visit the university, founded in 1215 in the Courtyard de las Escuelas. Visit the new cathedral, built between the 16th and 18th centuries, a beautiful blend of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles.

Day 5 – Regua > Solar de Mateus

In the morning, the ship sails through the romantic Douro Valley in a unique setting among the vineyards. In the afternoon, visit the beautifully located wine farm and wine tasting. Then continue by bus to the Solar de Mateus, an elegant 18th-century palace, a true pearl of Baroque art. The gardens are beautiful with flower paths, exotic plants and fragrant flowers.

Day 6 – Boating > Porto

In the morning the ship sails towards Porto. The historic center is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. With its bridges, monuments, azulejos, ornate balconies, and shopping streets, the city is a feast for the eyes. In the heart of the historical center you will visit the cathedral “Sé”, whose square offers a beautiful view of the river and the rooftops of the city. A visit to the city ends in one of the wine cellars with a tasting.

Day 7 – Guimarães > Braga

In the morning, departure by bus to Guimaraes. Discover the historic center, passing by Largo da Oliveira (Olive Tree Square), a well-preserved medieval ensemble. Visit the Dukes of Braganca Castle, whose architecture is reminiscent of Burgundy castles. In the afternoon, head to Braga “Rome Portugal” to discover the extraordinary heritage of the city. In the evening, dinner and fado party on board.

Day 8 – Porto > Brussels

After breakfast, get off and transfer to the airport. Scheduled flight to Brussels.
