Every six months, Twitter announces the game titles that have been tweeted about the most. For the first six months of 2022, that’s Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact is an action RPG created by Chinese developer miHoYo. The game debuted as a mobile and PC game, but has also ported to PS4. On April 28, 2021, Genshin Impact was also released for PlayStation 5 and a version for Nintendo Switch is in the works.

In the first half of the year, 1.5 billion tweets were sent about this game. In second place comes the famous word game Wordle, followed by Ensemble Stars! And the Final Fantasy franchise.

Strikingly, no major game licenses such as FIFA or Call Of Duty can be found on the list, which appear to be dominated by Eastern titles. The explanation for this comes from another chart published by Twitter. In the top ten countries where games are tweeted about the most, Japan ranked first, followed by America and South Korea.

  2. United State
  3. South Korea
  4. Thailand
  5. Indonesia
