UK supplies long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine

The UK has supplied Ukraine with long-range cruise missiles. British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said Confirmed on Thursday. Wallace said the missiles give Ukraine the ability to push Russian troops back from Ukrainian territory. Not sure how many pieces it is.

These are Storm Shadow missiles jointly developed by the UK and France. The missiles are usually air-launched and have a range of more than 250 kilometers. This is slightly less than ATACMS missiles (300 kilometers) from the US, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already requested several times. For now, the US is reluctant to provide long-range weapons.

According to CNN Kiev has promised the British government not to use the weapons on targets inside Russia. With Storm Shadow, Ukraine could hit targets in Crimea or other Russian-occupied territory. According to CNN, the UK has agreed to provide missiles in response to Russia’s attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
