Ukraine vows to guarantee ‘life and safety’ to Russian soldiers who surrender: ‘But time is running out’

Ukraine will guarantee the “life and safety” of Russian soldiers who immediately surrender. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in a video message. Reznikov recorded the advertisement in Russian.

The message, apparently directed at Russian soldiers who refuse to fight, comes at a time when Ukrainian forces are regaining control of territory in the south and east of the country. “We guarantee life, security and justice to all those who will immediately surrender the fight,” it seemed. “You can still save Russia from tragedy and protect the Russian army from humiliation” or “Live in memory as thieves, rapists and murderers.”

Reznikov said the Kremlin “deceived and betrayed” Russian soldiers. “Moscow does not like the truth. It is easier for them to claim that you died as heroes fighting NATO forces. NATO countries provide us with weapons, it is true. But the Ukrainian army is fighting you with these weapons.”

Reznikov also promised in his speech “a court for those who issued criminal orders.”
