DUIC attaches great importance to photography. If possible, we make pictures ourselves of the topics we write about. Of course this doesn’t always work. Sometimes photos are used that are provided or, for example, photos from the archives of Utrecht. Here is an overview of photos from last week.
What is currently a gray and petrified area will soon become a green meeting place. The Moreelse area, which lies between the Hoog Catharijne and the railways, Nicolaas Beetsstraat and Catharijnesingel, will be processed in the coming years and transformed into the “Morels Gardens”.
Last week, a lot of work was done in downtown Utrecht on a new mural adorning physicist Caroline Bleecker. It is the fourth work by De Strakke Hand in the series of mural formulas in which the pioneering science appears. This work is a “gift” from UMC Utrecht and the University of Utrecht on the occasion of 385 years of science in the city.
On the pedestal next to the Centraal Museum in the center of Utrecht is another new artwork. After, among other things, golden zucchini and a creeping artificial tree, there is now a four-meter-high chair made of clay.
