Every week the Belgian Video Games Federation (VGFB) brings us a list of the top 5 best-selling games in Belgium.
In week 38 of 2023, newcomer Payday 3 is in first place. This is a cooperative PvE game where you have to carry out various robberies as dangerous criminals. Working together, players can pull off a heist correctly in different ways. For example, it is possible to open a safe containing heavy explosives, but you can also use stealth, find the key to the safe and escape without being seen.
In second place is Mortal Kombat 1, a soft reboot of the series where the story starts over, but in the timeline of Fire God Lui Kang. The biggest new addition to Mortal Kombat 1 is Kameos. They are auxiliary characters that you can activate during combat with the press of a button to perform offensive, defensive, or special moves. Kameos provides an extra layer of strategy to the familiar Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay.
The Crew Motorfest, the new racing game from Ubisoft, came in third place, and it is an open world racing game where you can race on the roads with cars, in the air with planes, and at sea with boats. The world of The Crew Motorfest is located in Hawaii. There is support for official racing wheels for added immersion while racing.
In fourth place comes NBA 2K24, the new basketball game that many fans are looking forward to. This year there’s cross-play support, there’s a new The Neighborhood game, and the basketball players look more realistic than ever.
Lies of P was the final #5 best-selling game last week in Belgium. It is a challenging Soulslike game that is very similar in atmosphere to the popular game Bloodborne. You play the role of Pinocchio and have to go on an adventure in the dark fantasy city called Balls. The city is full of terrifying enemy dolls that move and act very creepy, but there are a lot of other creatures as well. Normally dolls are forbidden from attacking people, but for mysterious reasons the dolls have become extremely aggressive. You have to work to stop the puppets.
