What happened to this game?

We bring up Pre3view again. Just because it is possible. These are always previews, or maybe even better first impressions, of the games that caught our eye this past “E3” week and which we’re bringing to you here solely on the basis of our own taste. This time, it’s a new game from Obsidian, and it’s a favorite opening game at Gamekings because of The Outer World. Avowed is a new IP, revealed at the Xbox Game Show in July 2021. It’s a first-person RPG similar to Skyrim, with rune-based magic powers and plenty of swordplay. Two years later, we saw a new trailer. And it caused quite a stir. Unfortunately not for the right reasons. What happened to this game? You’ll get the answer in Avowed’s preview.

Recognized preview: “It doesn’t look good”

The game takes place in the land of Eora, the same place Obsidian used for his RPG Pillars of Eternity. The exact location is “living territory”. From the latest trailer, we can gather that the playable character is a powerful magic wielder, who was sent to the Living Lands by the Emperor to investigate a devastating plague threatening the inhabitants of the Living Lands. Since you are a very powerful magician, the locals fear you and don’t trust you. So you will have to prove your good nature to get her on your side. All in all, a tough job.

The trailer we saw for the last Xbox was nothing like the first trailer. Now this is often the case with games. But this time the change was not for the better. Why did we have this feeling and would the acknowledgment still be okay? You can see and hear the answer in this video.
