In the monthly Missing Apps section, you can read which apps from the past month are worth getting. We always discuss about a dozen apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. These can be apps that you may not have known about, that are useful, or just fun to try. They could also be veterans who have received a major update and thus receive some extra attention. The list of the best Dutch apps for September 2023 has been published previously.
Discussed earlier this month on iCulture:
iCulture App of the Month: Blackmagic Camera
The maker of popular video editing software DaVinci Resolve has created a new iPhone app. Blackmagic Camera brings the interface of Blackmagic’s professional cameras to iPhone. This gives photography enthusiasts plenty of additional options, such as adjusting shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and tint. The app also allows users to switch between different lenses and frame rates. There’s integration with DaVinci Resolve and Blackmagic Cloud, but videos can also be saved to Apple’s Photos app.
Minder
Reminders on your iPhone are usually accompanied by annoying notifications. The Mindr app for iOS changes that. The tool gives you a visual reminder of a recurring task, such as doing laundry or cleaning windows. Like Apple’s own battery widget, Mindr gives you an idea of how much time you have left to complete a task (or how much you’ve already slowed down). Once you’ve finished a task, you can also mark the task as complete directly in the widget since iOS 17.
Baldur’s Gate 3
The third part of the Baldur’s Gate series has now been officially released for Mac. Previously, BG3 was already available for Early Access on macOS. This is a turn-based RPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. During your adventure, as a player you have to constantly make choices. What path do you take, what powers and equipment do you use, and how do you deal with your enemies? The game is different for everyone. Developer Larian Studios says there are more than 17,000 different endings. This definitely benefits replayability.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Downloadable on Steam.
Camo studio
Do you want to stream or record videos via your iPad? Camo Studio is suitable for this. You can connect a microphone and camera to your iPad to stream or record professional footage. Additionally, you can start using different overlays and there is a control center available for replying to chat messages, among other things. You can easily stream from your iPad to popular platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Also important: The app does not contain ads.
EA Sports FC Mobile
Electronic Arts can no longer use the FIFA name for its games. This means that the mobile game FIFA Mobile will suffer as well. EA Sports FC Mobile 24 will be released in its place, if you have already played FIFA Mobile, you can update the app to the new version. The updated game provides new ball movements, e.g Power shot, Knocking And Difficult handling. There is also a new shooting system.
Morpho adapter
Morpho Converter has been updated, so the app also offers an interactive tool in iOS 17. There is also support for StandBy on iPhone. You can easily convert units and currencies via the app. This is useful when you travel to a country that uses a currency other than the euro, and also when cooking or doing odd jobs. The app remembers your favorite conversions to use them faster.
Tamino – Get Tapped
Do you use an electric toothbrush? It will likely give a vibration signal every thirty seconds so you know it’s time to brush the next area of your teeth. For some, half a minute is too long, while for others it may be too short. With the Tameno app, you can easily set a timer that vibrates (or beeps) every ten seconds. In addition to taking care of your teeth, this app can also be useful for many other tasks.
