The White House issued 2020 tax returns for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. In doing so, they continue a tradition that Donald Trump has broken.

The former president refused to release his tax returns, but Biden is now embracing a “near-continuous tradition,” says the White House. Since Richard Nixon resigned in 1974, all US presidents have declared their tax documents, with the exception of Trump.

Biden and his wife reported a gross income of $ 607,336 for 2020. They then paid $ 157,414 in income taxes. In their home state of Delaware, they still pay $ 28,794 in taxes. First Lady Jill Biden has also paid Virginia taxes: $ 443.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her attorney husband Doug Imhoff reported more federal revenues: $ 1,695,225 in total. Then they paid $ 621,893 in taxes. In California they paid $ 125,004 and Imhoff paid another $ 56,997 in Washington, D.C.

According to an investigation by The New York Times, Donald Trump reduced his tax bill to zero in eleven from eighteen years of research. In 2016 and 2017, he had barely paid $ 750. The former president called this information “fake news.”
