France and the United Kingdom are discussing reopening the borders

France is temporarily banning entry to travelers from the United Kingdom due to the emergence of a new type of Coronavirus there. Britain’s Home Secretary Priti Patel did not respond to a question on the news channel if there was a solution on Wednesday. “We are committed to finding a solution,” the minister said. “We’ll see what happens today.”

Patel was less assertive than French minister Clement Boone (European Affairs). According to the BBC, it is reported that Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron have already agreed on measures that make it possible to resume trade. These measures will take effect on Wednesday.

Since it became known that a new mutated type of Coronavirus has appeared in the United Kingdom and is more contagious, the freight traffic around the canal tunnel has stopped.

Given the prospects of a Brexit without a trade deal, there is a peak traffic on both sides of the channel in terms of freight traffic. European companies are still trying quickly to import as many goods as possible from the UK and vice versa.
