GGD organizes online meeting on “The Healthy Teenage Mind”

Den Helder – GGD Hollands Noorden is organizing the online meeting “A healthy teenage brain! What can you do to strengthen this?” for all educators of teens (10+) who want to learn more about mental health and the teen brain.

During this online meeting, Stephen Pont (Developmental Psychologist and Parenting Coach) and Monique Klein Friend (Parenting Counselor) will discuss the importance of good mental health for teens and how educators can promote it. What is important for you to know as a parent / educator, what parents should pay attention to and what needs to be done to support the teenager in this matter.

Participants will receive answers to questions such as:
• What is mental health?
• What do teens need to develop mental health?
• How do you talk to a teenager about what he/she is feeling?
• When does the behavior come from the adolescent’s brain and when is the behavior worrisome?
• What if things do not go well? What are the possible signs to watch out for?

A hands-on online meeting where teachers learn more about mental health and the adolescent brain. During this online meeting, questions can be asked via chat. The online meeting takes place on the evening of Thursday, June 16, from 20:00 to 21:15. There are no costs included. You can register via Site
