Helldivers 2 launched last week for PlayStation 5 and PC. In three days, the game was downloaded more than a million times, a record for the Playstation version on the Steam gaming platform.

The number of active players is also breaking records. On Sunday, 155,000 people played Helldivers 2 simultaneously on Steam.
Although some games like Enshrouded and Palworld had more concurrent players this year, this is an absolute record for a Playstation release on Steam. A peak of 360,000 active players was reached on both platforms combined.

Helldivers is a co-op shooter with no real story mode. As a player, you are one of many soldiers who must conquer countless planets in the universe in the name of Super Earth by violently “spreading democracy.” You can complete missions alone or with other players, and unlock all kinds of upgrades that will make your life easier.
As with many new games, there is also a paid Battle Pass, with which you can unlock more items, but you can also get the more important items with the free pass.
Teething accidents and problems
Although the toy is very popular, there were some teething problems during the first few days. Players on Steam reported that the game regularly crashed and there were sometimes issues finding two-player co-op. The studio behind Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Game Studios, quickly came up with solutions that have now increased the game’s score to 77 percent on Steam.
