iMac G4 with M1 chip: a great combination

Inspiration for iMac G4 M1

Colby says he got a lot of inspiration from a Youtube video which shows how to use the iMac G4 as an additional screen. He also used a number of other blogs that deal with G4 in detail.

Colby himself says about the project: “I don’t know much about hardware and sometimes it was really difficult. But with a lot of perseverance I was able to do it. I am very proud of myself!”

On the MacRumors forum, he goes on to say that as a kid he always wanted an iMac G4. He tried to make his creation with Mac mini machines, but Intel chips did not cooperate. This was in part due to the dimensions and heat development. However, the M1 does get a lot less hot and when he found out, he wanted to give it a try again.

Apple M1 chip

The Apple M1 chip debuted in late 2020 with MacBook Pro employment MacBook Air. The chip, called Apple Silicon, is also in iPad Pro 2021 employment iMac 2021 to find.

It’s been a long time since the iMac G4 went on sale. The All-In-One was introduced in 2002 and has been sometimes affectionately referred to as the “iLamp” due to its striking appearance. The device was equipped with a PowerPC G4 processor with a power of 700 or 800 MHz and an on-board GeForce 2 MX video card. There was a 40 GB, 60 GB, and 80 GB hard drive in the machine and it had a DVD or CD player in the base.

The iMac is undoubtedly one of the most popular and popular Apple products. The latest update is the 2021 iMac, which was revealed in April 2021. It’s good to see that even the old design is still alive with Apple fans.
