the book Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Powerful Players Behind the House of Windsor It appeared on January 24th and was written by British journalist Valentine Low. He actually came up with a story in 2021 that Meghan would bully staff of the British royal family. The royals then brushed that under the rug and according to Law, it was because they “didn’t want another fight with Harry and Meghan”. “I suspect that Meghan has not treated the staff well. If that happens, the Sussexes will come up with something new. That is why the Royal Family would prefer to receive a little bit of criticism from the media for not being open to another spat with Harry and Meghan,” Law said in the post. the time. Meghan Markle’s spokesperson responded by calling it a “slander campaign”.

He now shares more stories about Prince Harry and Meghan in his book. And they are much less positive than those in the Harry book itself. For the book, he interviewed several insiders, including (former) employees of the royal family. They described the collaboration with Harry and Meghan as “working with teenagers”. “They were stubborn, tough, uncontrollable, incredibly stubborn.” Low gives the example of private jets. In the summer of 2019, they boarded several private jets in a short period of time. And that while they advised against it. “You tell the world to go green and then you get a private jet.” But they didn’t listen.”

“Beyoncé in the UK”

Another source, who also worked at the palace, says Meghan Markle “thought she was going to be Beyoncé in the UK” after marrying Prince Harry. “I think she wanted to be a star, she wanted to be loved. She was less interested in cutting ribbons, opening hospitals, or the other boring things that royals often have to do. But she loved star status. She enjoyed the attention.” At one point during an official visit, Markle is said to have said out loud, “I don’t see why I don’t get paid for it.”

During her pregnancy, Meghan still had to participate in official visits, which put her under stress. At that point, an incident occurred between Markle and a young employee. After Megan completely broke her plan, the young woman said it would be very difficult to come up with a new one. Megan replied, “Don’t worry, if there is literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would ask them for you.”

phone calls

The book also mentions that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were constantly in touch with the staff. “You couldn’t escape them. They knew no bounds. It was the last thing they did before bed and the first thing they did when they woke up. Relations between the couple and some of the senior staff became so difficult that Miguel Head, personal secretary to Prince William, had to intervene.”

This eventually led to many employees leaving as they could no longer cope. Some of these people testified to the book. “We declared that they were afraid and wouldn’t stop shaking because they thought Meghan was going to get them under their feet again,” Lou says in the book.
