Suffering from eye inflammation? This remedy helps in the kitchen

Is the inflammation not decreasing or is the complaint getting worse? Then visit the doctor.

Causes of eye inflammation

An eye infection is usually caused by a virus or bacteria. A viral eye infection usually goes hand in hand with cold symptoms because the virus in the nose or pharynx spreads to the eyes.

Eye infections can also be caused by fungi, parasites, a dusty environment, or something as simple as dirt in your eye. People with dry eye syndrome often suffer from eye inflammation. In this syndrome, too little tear fluid is produced or too much tear fluid evaporates. This makes the eyes dry and irritated.

If you have an eye infection, you can get eye drops from the pharmacy, but if you feel an eye infection, you can also dive headfirst into your kitchen cupboard. Research indicates that chamomile tea helps prevent eye inflammation and relieves pain. The chamomile plant is known for its anti-inflammatory, calming, and calming effects for a reason.

Start with chamomile tea

It does not help to drink chamomile tea, but treat your eyes with it.

First of all, make a cup of chamomile tea with warm water (about 80 degrees) and use a bag of organic chamomile flowers for this. Make sure you don’t get any spice mixture.

Allow the chamomile to steep for at least 5 minutes, then remove the flowers from the water. Let the water cool to body temperature, soak a washcloth or cotton ball in it and hold it over your eyes for ten minutes.

Again: this method works especially well for primary inflammation. Is your eye starting to get red and are you in a lot of pain? Always visit a doctor or pharmacy.
