The Midden-IJssel Regional Plan sets out a path to achieving equal opportunities for healthy living, care and support

One year after the signing of the National Integrated Care Agreement and after extensive research in the area, more than 50 organizations have collaborated with the population. Challenges

Earlier this year, research was conducted into residents’ use of care and the capacity and performance of care, social care and support. For example, nearly half of young adults appear to suffer from psychological complaints. The region is aging faster than the national average. The number of residents suffering from excessive alcohol consumption and obesity is higher and rising faster than in many other regions of the Netherlands. Health differences, even at the regional level, are significant. Unfortunately, the shortage of healthcare workers in Midden-IJssel is also growing. All of this means that the demand for care is increasing, while there are fewer people providing it.

Healthy life

Residents enjoy living in the area and enjoy accessible, quality care nearby. More residents in low socioeconomic status neighborhoods enjoy better health by leading a healthy lifestyle and making healthy choices. Collaborating organizations seek to build a strong community; Residents are more available to each other and feel a strong solidarity in the environment. Mental well-being

There is less loneliness in the area and fewer people suffer from mental problems. Demand for mental health care (GGZ) has decreased and there is better coordination of existing demand for care, which also means that waiting times for mental health care are shorter.
