VAB and Touring have reported that they will be busy on European routes to southern travel destinations and on ring roads around major cities next Friday and Saturday. School holidays have begun in many European regions, and the first wave of vacationers from the North of the Netherlands is also expected. In our country, construction vacation begins in Antwerp, Leuven, East Flanders and Limburg.
at Belgium It will be especially crowded on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning with traffic jams towards the coast, on the E411 towards the Ardennes and on the E19 and E17 towards Paris. For the crowds in our country, a lot also depends on the people traveling through the North Holland. For example, it can be very crowded on the Brussels Ring Road and near Liege and Antwerp on Fridays.
Starts this week in France In the summer holidays, Saturday also turns red. Very difficult traffic with long queues is expected. The axes of Paris-Bordeaux-Spain, Limoges-Toulouse, Paris-Clermont-Ferrand-Spain and Lyon-Orange-Spain will be subject to traffic congestion, especially between 9am and 3pm. No problems expected on Sunday.
at Germany Saturday is a special issue, Friday will be less crowded (orange icon) and Sunday will be a smooth travel day (green icon). On Saturday, roadworks on major roads will lead to traffic jams in southern Germany. The busiest hubs in Germany are the A5 Karlsruhe-Basel, A8 Karlsruhe-Stuttgart-München-Salzburg, A9 Nürnberg-München, Ring (A99) of Munich, A3 Frankfurt-Nürnberg-Passau and the border crossings with Austria at Kufstein, Füssen and Passau.
at Austria Touring expects heavy traffic on Saturday with minor delays on the A10 Salzburg-Villach-Slovenia, the A9 Wels-Graz-Maribor and the A12/A13 Kufstein-Innsbruck-Brenner-Italy. Road works on Fernpass Road (B179) will cause significant traffic disruption through July 25.
Switzerland Saturday has an orange departure day with fewer traffic jams, especially at the St Gotthard tunnel towards the south.
at Spain and Italy Heavy traffic with smaller traffic congestion is expected (icon orange). The Gotthard Tunnel is also the main bottleneck in Italy.
VAB also requires that border controls be observed in slovenia and croatia.
