The water temperature of the Atlantic Ocean is dizzying. Waters in the west of the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Portugal were 3 to 5 degrees warmer than normal for this stage of summer at the end of June.
Warm sea to the Netherlands
How much the ocean has warmed recently is unprecedented. This has also been true for weeks in the western Mediterranean. Due to the summer climate, the Gulf of Bothnia, the Baltic Sea and all the waters around Denmark and the Netherlands have warmed significantly. With such a warm sea around Europe, it can no longer be a cool summer. Due to the relative proximity of low pressure areas around the United Kingdom, the air now and then pushes into the southern corner, temporarily throwing a heat wave at us. But as soon as that depression approaches, the temperature drops again by several degrees, along with precipitation.
What is winter cold?
Now, according to some, I shouldn’t start talking about winter. After all, a very long day is not behind us. But since I’m a winter baby — give me the frost — I’d like to share my fears about the weather since December. It is already getting colder in our country. Winter almost disappears from cultural heritage. With the knowledge of these warming waters, things will get tougher next winter. And sometimes I have to sigh.
