The First Soldier gets a release period and new features

Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will be released in November. Producer Tetsuya Nomura revealed this during a special live broadcast at the Tokyo Game Show. Pre-registration will begin later this month.

The game was announced in February and the team used comments from the previous closed beta to make adjustments. Producer Shoichi Ichikawa indicated that players want to play with a controller and that this has been added to the game.

“A lot of gamers would like to be able to play the game on PC or console,” Ishikawa said. “We are not there yet, but we hope this feature brings the experience a bit closer.” At the moment, there are no plans to bring the game to other platforms.

The game will feature record matches and ranked matches. Players receive items to achieve ranks in the game. After each season, each person gets a special code name to show everyone in the game how good they are.

Ichikawa said there are no systems that give paying players an edge. It should all come down to the skills of the players. Players who have played Final Fantasy VII or Final Fantasy VII: Remake will know where it is. The game takes place in a virtual reality simulation that Shinra uses to train SOLDIER candidates. So the locations are compatible with the locations from Final Fantasy VII: Remake.

The team will provide more updates as the game approaches its release date. Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier will be released on iOS and Android devices.
