BTS once again won the MTV Europe Music Awards

Just like last year, K-pop group BTS became the biggest winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday. South Koreans are back home again with four figurines. Justin Bieber was the top contender with eight nominations, but he wasn’t able to cash in on one of them.

The seven-member K-pop group won awards in the Best Group, Best Pop, Best K-pop, and Biggest Fans categories. And the award for best artist with Ed Sheeran went to the United Kingdom, as well as the award for best song. The latter defeated the red-haired Briton for the international film Bad Habits. Sheeran also opened the show with his new single, Overpass Graffiti, which was broadcast live in 180 countries.

Song Festival winner Manskin also performed on Sunday during the live show from Hungary. The Italians also won their first-ever MTV EMA with the award for Best Rock. They stole Coldplay, Foo Fighters, and Kings of Leon, among others. The host of the show, Saweetie, was also honored. The 28-year-old American rapper won in the Best New category.

Awards also went to Lil Nas X (Best Video for Montero), Nicki Minaj (Best Hip Hop), Olivia Rodrigo (Best Batch) and Maluma (Best Latina). The award for Best Alternative went to British rock artist Yungblud. Best collaboration went to Doja Cat ft. SZA for Kiss Me More. David Guetta took home Best Electronic, and singer-songwriter Billie Eilish was honored with a Video for Good award.
