Dominic Mibe from Kenya won the Brussels Marathon

Dominic Mibe from Kenya has won the Brussels Marathon. He crossed the finish line after 2 hours, 14 minutes and 13 seconds on the track at the King Baudouin Stadium. The 17th edition of the Brussels Airport Marathon & Half Marathon can count on a total of 10,000 participants.

Philip Koch of Kenya finished second by a few seconds. He clocked in at 2 hours, 15 minutes and 42 seconds. Belgium’s François Klaas was allowed to finish in the top three, albeit almost 25 minutes later, clocking 2 hours, 40 minutes and 10 seconds.

Frenchman Nicolas Fissinger won the half marathon. Ince Martin of the Brussels Athletic Association (PAV) won the women’s half marathon.

The marathon was held on a completely revamped course, which began under the Atomium. The course continued through Locken Park, King Baudouin Park in Jeddah, Noordwijk, the canal, the marina and the Japanese Tower until ending at the King Baudouin Stadium.

The show is not just a marathon. Half marathon, 10 km, 3 km (walk) and kids run were also held.

More than 100 nationalities participated, including neighboring France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Americans, Brazilians, and South Africans.
