Mental Health Concern – RTV Focus

Zwolle – This week is “Mental Health Week”. The goal of this week is to break the taboo by talking about mental health and learn to accept that challenges are part of life. Also an important topic for GGD. That’s why the “Mental Health Flag” is flying this week at the GGD’s main site in Zwolle – just as it is at many other organisations.

Marilyn Engelbarts, Public Health Advisor at GGD IJsselland: “Health is more than just not being sick. Mental health is just as important as physical fitness. But for many people this remains a difficult topic or even a daily struggle. Talking about it helps break down taboos.”

Astrid Schulting, Director of Public Health at GGD IJsselland: “At GGD, we are actively promoting the mental health of our residents. Mental health is one of the topics on our administrative agenda and therefore an important topic to work on for us and our 11 municipalities. And we are doing it.” In cooperation with our municipalities and our network partners.”

Marilyn: “As a partner in the regional network Samen Gezond IJssel-Vecht, we are committed to the mental resilience of our region. We work on awareness, informal support and improving cooperation between mental health care, general practitioners and the social sphere.
