Payroll in Belgium mainly takes place in the cloud – News

Cloud technology for payroll is more popular among Belgian companies than in our neighboring countries. This should be clear from a study of SD Worx.

About 55% of Belgian companies rely on cloud technology to pay employees. In our neighboring countries it is 5 out of 10. “Belgium, along with the Netherlands and Germany, is one of the pioneers of cloud technology for payroll,” says Tom Wouters, chief product officer at SD Worx, in a press release. The company, which provides online payroll software, surveyed more than 1,300 companies from Belgium, Germany, France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Among other things, it should show that 6 out of 10 Belgian companies experience a positive impact of technology on the course of the payroll process (59%). Furthermore, for 64% of Belgian companies, digitization will reduce the total cost of the payment process. Belgium is traditionally a country where payroll processes are often outsourced. The professionalization and digitization of those processes is with most of the major players,’ says Wouters. That means innovation in technology is very high. We are setting an example for other countries in this” he said.

Among the countries surveyed, the Netherlands is the largest consumer of HR cloud technology. 7 out of 10 companies in the country use the cloud for their payroll. The United Kingdom (45%) and particularly France (31%) use software less.
