Since clubs were still open before, we wanted to shoot this pocket-sized magazine at VICE Nights. If we had known earlier that we were going to have to cancel this party, I might have taken the time to piece this magazine together more carefully.
Unfortunately, instead we swept ourselves through to meet the deadline. Which means: We’ve closed our eyes by rereading the same texts a hundred times in the least amount of time possible, and left our sleep only to end up cramping on the cold concrete office floor, our teeth clenched and our arms at our sides. . Then our graphic designer got covid. Yes, we might have advised her to take a break. But we didn’t. In the end, the procedures were tightened again and DHL decided to deliver too late (worthless). So there was no need for all that pressure.
Having said that, I think we’ve created something very close to ourselves: a hard copy that has as much love as improvisation. You can have more fun finding errors in the lyrics. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to be won with that, except for the “Most Unbelieving Bastard Of Our Readers” award, then.
We may not necessarily make the world a better place, but what you’ll find in our magazine certainly didn’t make it worse in the past year. We had 2021 hard copies (otherwise it wouldn’t be funny) that you can find in various places in Belgium as of Friday 17 December (overview below).
