Health problemsAs he continues to struggle with his health, Stromae, 38, has had to cancel all remaining shows on his tour this spring. Although he will be in dozens of different stages until December next year, he needs more time to recover. Since then, it’s been quiet around the Belgian singer, though he’s now giving a sign of life via social media.

At the beginning of April, Stromae announced that he was unable to perform due to his “current health”. The singer, who had previously suffered from burnout, had to cancel several concerts in France in March. At the beginning of May, Stromae then announced that he would be canceling the remaining concerts of his tour.
‘I’m very sorry’
Among others, shows at Ziggo Dome and Down the Rabbit Hole were cancelled. “It was a tough decision, but at the same time essential to getting better,” Stromae said at the time. The pop star hoped, with the support of doctors, family, friends and his team, that he would recover and resume touring. But that proved impossible. “Unfortunately, I have to accept that the time I need to rest and recover will be longer than expected. I am deeply sorry that I could not keep my promise and that today I am announcing the end of the Fans Tour,” said Stromae.
Stromae started the tour in February 2022 and was supposed to visit the Netherlands in April, but then canceled some European shows due to his “current health”. The November 22nd and 23rd performances at the Ziggo Dome remained, but have now been cancelled, as have those at the Down the Rabbit Hole Festival.

Stromae was out of the race for a long time due to a bad reaction to anti-malarials and extreme exhaustion. “I was completely exhausted,” he told Liberation magazine. I couldn’t take those pills. I hallucinated. For a moment I thought I was going crazy, that I would never get out of this madness again. It was determined that I had a mental illness caused by medication. I was afraid of hurting myself, I am not anymore.
After his concerts were canceled, the singer stepped out of the spotlight. A bad reaction to malaria was the cause of extreme exhaustion. The side effects of the antimalarial medication also continued to bother him. In the Malaria Business documentary, Stromae tells the camera that he is in deep trouble. “My brother Luke, who is also my manager, saved my life,” he admitted. “He clicked with me. He always told me when I was feeling unduly paranoid. And I think, if it wasn’t for him, I would have tried to kill myself one night without a doubt. Sure. I weigh my words, I mean it.
