The United States on Wednesday greeted King Mohammed VI. The prince’s personal and recognized commitment to the climate was commended.

US Special Envoy John Kerry said on one side of a virtual ministerial meeting on the theme “Climate and Development” that the King of Morocco made his personal commitment to the fight against climate change in 2016 at COP22 in Marrakesh. “The Kingdom is a key partner in the international struggle against climate change,” Kerry said.

“We look forward to deepening our federation,” Kerry said in a tweet at the 260 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow on November 1-12, 2021.

At the initiative of the United Kingdom, the Cabinet Meeting on “Climate and Development” will bring together ministers and officials to define the next steps in directing COP26 to address priority issues for climate-sensitive communities.
