Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer, pleaded guilty in court to tax fraud. The 75-year-old admitted in a court deal that the company evaded taxes for years. He and other employees were rewarded with perks such as housing, special education, and cars that were excluded from the calculations.
Weiselberg has worked for the holding company that has handled the interests and investments of Trump and his family business since the 1980s. He pleaded guilty to all fifteen counts to prosecutors.
Weisselberg admitted receiving $1.76 million in undisclosed revenue. He agreed to pay nearly $2 million (plus penalties and interest) in back taxes. He is expected to be sentenced to five months in prison.

Trump has not been indicted in the case, but the Trump Organization has. “Weisselberg’s admission of guilt makes it much easier to convict the organization,” said professor and former prosecutor Rebecca Roeep. Weiselberg has signed on to testify against the Trump Corporation. This risks fines if a conviction follows.
The Trump Organization has hotels, golf courses, and vacation rentals around the world. Trump has previously denied the accusations, calling them “a manhunt by far-left Democrats” and “judicial misconduct”.
